How to Put Together the Perfect Valentine's Day For Girls

Valentine’s Day can be a really fun holiday. Even when you’re too young to have an official Valentine! Make your favorite little lady’s day the best ever with fun outfits, Valentines for classmates, special dinners, fort building, and much more! Here are a few ideas to put together the perfect Valentine’s Day for your daughter, niece, or granddaughter!

1. The Perfect Outfit

Every little girl loves feeling pretty–especially in a new outfit! So, help her put together a special outfit for Valentine’s Day! A twirly dress is perfect if she likes dresses. Pair that with a pretty new bow, a heart necklace, a bracelet and some matching shoes! If it’s cold, throw on a pair of Valentine’s tights, and she’ll be dressed to impress while feeling great! There’s something that makes girls feel really special when they get to wear an outfit that makes them happy!

2. Fun Valentines for Classmates

When it comes to Valentines for classmates, you can always go the traditional route. You can get those little packs of Valentines from the store that your daughter can sign and seal with a sticker. However, if you want to go a little more creative consider getting small unique party favors. You can find so many great and inexpensive things on sites like Amazon. Think slap bracelets, small pop-its, invisible ink pens, etc. You can find some cute printables to go with most little favors on Etsy. Select a few different options and let her pick what she likes best!

3. Valentine’s Gifts for Girls

Do you buy gifts for your kids for Valentine’s Day? It is not necessary, but it can be a really fun thing to do. Even just their favorite candy or a pretty card would be great. If you want to do something more than that, consider getting them a mini squishmallow, heart jewelry, or gifting them an experience, for the future!

4. Matchy-Matchy

Not all kiddos like to match, but some really do! Whether that’s matching with a sibling or coordinating outfits with their friends, matching could be a fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Get your daughters matching flutter sleeve shirts or dresses. They’ll look adorable, and you’ll be able to get some cute pictures of your little ones! If you have girls and boys, and they like to match, consider getting them clothing in the same colors (red, pink, white, etc.)–so it’ll feel like they match, even if the outfits aren’t identical.

5. Comfy Clothes

Maybe your daughter doesn't want to wear a dress, and that’s totally okay! If she’s not feeling the twirly dresses, consider a character hoodie. These hoodies come in a variety of styles that are modeled after favorite Disney princesses. If she doesn’t like princesses, there are also hoodies for Mickey, Minnie, Yoda, and more! There’s something for everyone, and hoodies can be used year-round too!

6. Decorations

Nothing gets you more in the mood to celebrate a holiday than decorations! Putting conversation hearts in a pretty glass jar can be a cute and yummy way to decorate your kitchen or living room. Banners are also a really fun way to decorate, and there are so many cute ones to choose from! Many stores also release cute Valentine’s collections that you can shop, if you want to go all out. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, places like the Dollar Store often have cute decorations for most holidays. If you don’t want to buy anything new, just decorate with red and pink all over your house. No hearts or Valentine’s specific decorations needed! No matter how you decide to decorate, there are some really fun ways to brighten up your home and make it feel special for Valentine’s Day!

7. A Valentine’s Meal

Another great way to celebrate is with food! Everyone loves a good meal. If you don’t want to make any major changes to your dinner menu, consider just serving a Valentine’s themed dessert. If you want to go all out, though, grab your little’s favorite meal and drink–and have that for dinner! They’ll feel so special!

Another way to help her feel special is to do a dress-up dinner! Get her a cute princess dress, and let her wear it for the meal. You can dress up too, if you want. Dress-up dinners can be fun for the whole family!

8. Plan an Outing

Does your little one have a favorite place to go? Take them on a day date for Valentine’s Day! If they love the aquarium, take them to the aquarium, and let them play! If they like animals, find a local petting zoo. If they like being creative, take them to a ceramic painting place or an art class! There are so many fun things to do! It’ll make her feel extra special that you remembered her favorite thing, and that memory will last for a lifetime.

9. Manicures

Do you love getting your nails done? If so, chances are that your little girl will love it too! So, treat her to a mani pedi at your favorite salon. If that’s outside of your budget, or you prefer something at home, get a nail kit. There are specially sized nail kits just for little girls! Just make sure you read the details and reviews so that you know you’re not getting a set that will be too big! A salon or an at-home manicure will be sure to make her day!

10. Movie Night

End the best Valentine’s Day ever with a movie night, complete with a fort! Let your littles pick their favorite movie, or pick a new movie that you think they’ll love. Put on your PJs, and build a fort. You can build some awesome forts with things around your house. If you prefer an easier option, though, you can buy fort kits. Air forts are also really fun if you have a box fan on hand!

Pop some popcorn, grab some sodas, and your favorite candy. Snuggle up in your fort for the best Valentine’s Day movie night ever! If everyone falls asleep, then turn it into a slumber party in the fort!

No matter what you decide to do, simply doing something will make it special. In order to make it the perfect Valentine’s Day, you don’t need to spend a lot of money–just think more about your little one’s preferences and what they love. Focus on those things and just make the day a little more special than a regular day—it will be amazing no matter what!
